Herman Yu

Herman Yu works behind the scenes to help GGN’s studio run smoothly each day, bringing thoughtful organization, positive energy, and a keen design sensibility to everything she does. She brings a unique blend of creative and operational experience to GGN, shaped by a lifelong appreciation for thoughtful design. Since childhood, she has been drawn to proportion, composition, and the details that make things feel right. This curiosity led her to earn a BFA in Textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her career has spanned textile design in New York for showroom collections, textile mills, and Calvin Klein Home, as well as founding her own design business focused on bespoke paper goods and color consulting for clients including Herman Miller.

While she has always appreciated beautifully crafted objects, Herman is most inspired by environments that enhance the quality of people's everyday lives. She believes good design is rooted in thoughtful problem solving, where functionality, sustainability, and beauty work together. In her role as Office Manager, she values being part of a studio whose mission reflects her own belief in creating places with lasting impact.
