Growing up in an artistic family, Nanxi Dong believes landscape design must be seen to be an art, not “nature.” Her background in landscape architecture, urban design and fine art allows her to infuse this philosophy into the design of complex sites, melding the genius loci with functional and daily life.
Prior to joining GGN, Nanxi worked on a variety of project types and scales, including gardens, community designs, and regional plans in the US and abroad. She received her Bachelor of Urban Planning from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was awarded the Bronze Tablets, the highest honor for students ranking in the top three percent in their graduating class. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture with Urban Design certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.
Nanxi is happy to have found a new home in the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys spending as much time as possible experiencing modern art and dance.
